DVD+RW Drive problems

I finally got some DVD+RW disks on sale and started formatting them.
One of them is stuck in the drive. Is there some way to make Win2Kp
eject the disk?

Clicking on "My Computer" locks up when it gets to displaying the DVD
device. There's a little hole in the front of the drive that I thought
was a forced eject, but when I stuck a paperclip in there, the disk
drive just made some awful grinding noises!

Sounds like the disk is misaligned in the drive.

I would shut down the computer, then remove the drive.
Once the drive is out it should be trivial to remove the
face plate, which in turn usually makes it easy to remove
jammed disks. Then play it safe and toss that disk in
the trash.

Alternatively, if the front bezel of your computer case
comes off easily, then that alone can often make it easy
to remove the face plate from the CD burner.
