dvd-rom+dvd-rewriter

both my rom and my writer will not play audo discs but will play dvd discs
even if they are coppied, whenever i put any other discs in they read as
there is zero on the disc. my writer is a lite-on and my dvd-rom is a sony
and i would like them to read any disc i put in them.

Are the Audio Disks CDs or DVDs? Is this ALL CDs that BOTH cannot read?

yes audio disks are cds and yes both drives can't read cds help.thanks robert

Depending on the age off the two DVD units, they may no longer be able to read
any CDs? DVD drives, either ROM or RW, both have two lasers. One laser is
used to read CDs and the other is used to read DVDs.

Have you tried to read a DATA (ie: computer programs) CD????

--drive now says ! disc is not formatted. windows cannot read from this disc,the disc might be corupted,or it could be using a format that is not compatable with windows .
