DVD-ROM acting as hard drive

how do i fix this problem when i first start window the hard drive light
stays solid and the dvd rom light flashes i press eject and everything starts
to work ex. the desktop icons appear. what can i do to fix this problem?

Set your BIOS to boot first from hard drive.

bios setup access keys. Go to:
