Off and on during the past two years at least, I've been fiddling with DVD,
and trying to burn a DVD ...no joy ...well partial joy !
I've been playing with my StarWars trilogy dvd set - that I bought !
I ripped StarWarsIV - "A New Hope" with SmartRipper, to get the vob files
onto hd, and I used DVDtoAVI to rip off the sound track etc.
....and I've been fiddling with TMPGEnc.exe ever since. I've just done a
FIVE HOUR *.mpg (mpegII) creation and the screen ratio is wrong, i.e. the
image is a bit too vertically "stretched" when I play the *.mpg with
PowerDVD on my PC.
I'm wondering if it's to do with "cropping" off the top and bottom black
bars in TEMPGEnc - Starwars IV is 16:9
....this is too horrendoues to explain - .....is there anyone in here who
knows how to set TEMPGenc.exe dubber to make a *.mpg file out of a 16:9 dvd
rip that plays in the correct screen ratio using PowerDVD ?
....any hints gratefuly accepted,
regards, Richard
ps I'm fighting with PAL, not NTSC ...am in UK
