I've used SmartRipper 2.41 and DVDdecryptor for years, and have now come up
against SONY ArccOS copy protection system, which these old progs. can't
overcome.
Can anyone suggest a more up to date DVD ripper that can beat this 'later'
copy protection, and also does everything for me that the aforementioned two
progs. do ?
e.g. I think that they build a new *.ifo file , and they seem to do
something that helps my ancient DVD2one.exe program, (which resizes the
ripped 1gb *.vob files to 4.7gb), and authors them for me, ...i.e. creates
the *.ifo and *.bup files that Nero needs to make a proper DVD.
BTW I'm not a DVD pirate, ...every time I buy a new movie DVD, ...I make a
copy of it and watch the copy - that way I'm not forced to watch
"copyright" plate the one simply cannot get past until it's timed out, and
I'm also able to avoid the typical nasty DVD menu system. i.e. It's heaven
to put my copy in the DVD player in the lounge and it IMMEDIATELY plays
without all the C**P !
TIA,
regards, Richard
ps I quickly tried http://www.dvdtox.com/index.htm , (which annoyingly tried
to call home on the web !)
....and it didn't get the screen geometry correct, so that's obviously a load
of rubbish !
