i have had my dvd-ram for cple of years with no problems backing up dvd's.
last month i backed up a playstation 2 game and since then every time i
insert a blank dvd-r the icon changes from 'dvd-ram' to cd drive and when i
click on it i get ' d:\ not accessable incorrect function' i also note that
there is no recording tab under properties, unlike my cd-rw, when i insert
any disc with content on it it reads fine. so far i have tried deleting any
writing software, i have never had roxio or easy cd creator, tried for any
updated drivers, followed instruction to change things in regedit, and even 2
weeks ago i had to re-install windows from origanal discs as my pc died after
downloading updates from microsoft. i have also tried anothr dvd-ram but the
outcome is always the same. it is a matshita dvd-ram, i am running win xp
pro. on a e machines 540 any ideas cause i am running out of places to try.
thanks
