DVD -R, +R, -RW, +RW

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the difference between DVD +R, -R, +RW
and -RW? Can I burn a DVD -R/-RW in a DVD +R/+RW burner
and vice versa?

Competing standards, from different manufacturer's. Do a search for info
at http://google.com.

+ and - are not compatible.

Either format, R is write ONCE. RW can be erased, and rewritten.

There are DVD burners that can burn any of -R/-RW/+R/+RW. If you were
to buy a new burner, I would suggest one of those; even better, if it
can burn DVD-RAMs as well.
