dvd-/+r and dvd -/+ rw

oby

I am having trouble writing to dvd r's of either category but not dvd rw
(-+) . saying that its only maxwell dvd's i used but it did work at least
once.
1. a dvd r dose not have to be formated to right to it right, its formated
after writing data to it and once that is done it can't be written to agan,
i think.
can anyone suggest how i might overcome this problem
i am using iomega hotburn pro
thanks for your time

Check to see if your drive is supported.

And make sure you are using the latest version.

If you are still having problems try at the Nero Demo Version and see if
that works any better with your drive.

It's possible the media you are using is not working well with your system.
Is the RW media the same brand as the R media? Some systems can be pretty
finicky about what media will work in them. And you are correct: You do
not have to format either a DVD+\-RW or DVD+/-R before burning. The RW is
re-writable while the R is not. Try a different brand of DVD+\-R media to
see if that may be the problem.
