DVD Player for XP Pro

I recently installed XP Pro, but when I tried to play a DVD ( movie) I got
an error message saying Media Player could not decode the DVD. Are there any
freeware DVD players for XP, or if not, what commercial player SW is
recommended?

I assume you DO have a DVD drive installed & aren't trying to play it from
your normal CD-drive? The program is supplied with that.

You will need a DVD "codec" that acts between your DVD-ROM (or your
DVD+-R(W), if that's what you're using).

Works just fine in XP with WMP.
