DVD player audio issue (Win2k) / MPEG-2 Driver

I'm using Win2K and used to play commercial movie DVDs using DVDplay.exe, Roxio
Creator Player etc.
Recently I have installed and uninstalled Nimo DivX Xdiv drivers, and then it
caused DVDplay.exe (& Roxio Creator) to play the DVD's video but without the
audio (otherwise sound is OK on my computer). I would guess something's wrong
with the MPEG2 audio driver or its configuration.

Now, on login, and whenever I launch DVDplay.exe or Roxio player etc., I get the
following message:
"While setting up DVD-Video playback, it was found that
* Audio will not be available during the playback, because the audio device
and/or driver is not working. Please make sure that the audio device works
properly."

The DVD drive seems to be OK, and I can see the video, but cannot hear any
audio.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled MediaPlayer 9.0 and ActiveX, DirectShow, but
no luck, the problem sustained.

Can anyone suggest any solution.

Thanks,
DrDSP

Well, it's the AC3 audio filter that's missing. Nimo obviously
replaced what DVDPlay and/or Roxio had installed. When removing
Nimo, it ungraciously did not reinstate whatever it had
replaced. Chances are, reinstalling either of your DVD Player
packages will do it for you. If not, you can find an AC3 filter
at SourceForge.
