DVD locks up

everytime I put a DVD in the computer it locks up! When this happens I have
no control over anything and I have to shut it down by hitting the power
button. Any solutions out there?

This was happening to me a few weeks ago and I'm not sure if you hav
DVD player software installed or not, I have Intervideo Windvd...I ha
to reinstall that and once I did it worked fine. Not sure if that wil
be of any help to you or not
