DVD/CDRW drive can't recognize DVD content, data or movie.

My Sony TR1AP DVD/CDRW suddenly stop reading DVD disk
content, either DVD movie or data files.

I am not sure what I have installed to cause this problem
because it was working functioning before. The combo can
still read and write CD-R but DVD. I suspect that some
drivers are corrupted. I have installed SP1a no luck
getting this combo drive to read DVD.

I hate to start over with the recovery CD.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you reinstalled your DVD software... usually PowerDVD or WinDVD,
whatever came with your PC.
