Well first, I've tried removing in device manager,
reboot, and let it reinstall, but no luck.
Even running pc dr diagnostics I had no luck as when it
asked for a data cdrom, blank cdr/cdrw, blank dvd+r, etc,
when inserted and clicking ok, it would (after a few
seconds) ask me to insert the above mentioned even though
I already did. Therefore not getting anywhere.
I also ran a autoplay diagnostic downloaded from
microsoft, but it said it found problems but couldn't fix
them, it didn't say what kind of problems.
One curious thing, when inserting a cdr or cdrw,in my
computer the drive shows as dvd/cdrw I guess as it
should. When you put in a dvd+r, this changes to cdrom.
Computer is 7 months old, at first I made dvd copies of
the recovery on drive d, and an exact copy of a music cd
with no problems. Then shorty later the problem came up.
Since the purchase of this computer, I've not installed
anything but HP,Norton, and Mircosoft udates.
Can't seem to get anywhere with HP support, please help!
Please feel free to email and I'll try to get any
information needed.
