CD or DVD not recognized

When I insert a blank cd or dvd+r in either drive my computer do not ask for
an action to take. In order for me to perform an action, I have to go into
windows explorer. How can I get the computer to automatically ask me for an
action when a blank cd or dvd+r is inserted?

Because it is a blank, and has no TOC (table of contents).
Without this menu architecture you may as well place a
coaster in the tray, it is meaningless to windows.

Yep, pretty primitive o/s hey? With Linux, when I insert a blank DVD-R or
CDR, it automatically opens up my burning software as that is the only
reason one would place a blank disk into the drive. To burn a new one. :)
