Is your DVD/CD a combo drive? If you go in to "My Computer" and manually
access the disk drive. Do you see contents (folders/files)on any disk, or a
blank window cell?

Why did you have to reinstall XP? Perhaps you had a hardare problem to
begin with and you thought that re-installing would fix it?
