DVD/CD drives give blue screen

Hi

For several days now, both my DVD drives have been crashing my system.
What's strange is that one is internal and connected I think a typical IDE
drive and the other is external and connects via a USB or firwire port.

What happens is that the second the internal drive door closes with a disc,
I get a blue screen error....and with the external drive, it happens the
second I plug it into a port.

So far I've done the "USB dance by disconnecting all USB stuff, uninstalling
all USB drivers and rebooting 2x. No change. Also, all other USB
peripherals work fine....

Below is my error rport(s)

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

I can only suggest that you start your quest here:

That will tell you a lot of information, perhaps too much, but it should
give you a good place to start.

Thanks for the reply......

Unfortunately, the only thing that I thought would work was trying to
re-install Windows XP (or fixing it?) but since the computer shuts down as
soon as the Cd drawer closes, that won't work:)

I'm thinking that the problem may be an bas power supply. I was hoping
someone here might also suggest the same or another possability.

Thanks

Solved!

Turns out it was an erant file from the Sonic MyDVD program that I never
use. I found this out because whenever it would crash to the blue screen, it
mentioned a file.... tfsnpool.sys
I did a search for that file, checked it's properties and found it was put
there by Sonic and had something to do with the drive letter. So I renamed
the files, which was probably taking a big chance, deleted everything Sonic
related and all is well.....
