DVD burner

Can anyone help. I cant burn any video on my dvd burner I
keep getting an error message" Please insert correct
media and retry. I have the HP Pavilion a257c and It uses
the +r and no matter what kind of disc I put in it, I
still ge the same error message. Thanks for any help.
