"Duration of a project cannot be more that 24 hours" error

Trying to get home movies made from a Sony DVD camcorder into movie maker
easily. When I drag in my movie clip (a .vob that i renamed .mpg) it plays
fine in movie maker, however when i drag it into the timeline, i get a:

"The Duration of a project cannot be more than 24 hours. You can trim or
split clips to reduce their length, or try using shorter clips."

I know the movie is under 1 minute, but movie maker thinks it is 26 hours,
30 minutes.

I am running quad-core, 32 bit vista, with 4 gigs of ram.

Thanks,

That's a new one on me but almost certainly due to the fact that your clip
is an MPG.
MPG video does not work well with Movie Maker and sometimes not at all.
Convert the clips to WMV or AVI and those should import just fine.
