Hi - need some help sorting my laptop.

I have recently reinstalled windows Xp, and have done something wrong. i
have set the laptop up so that it is part of my office network dormain, do
when i start windows, I get the choice of selecting my office network
domain, or the laptop computer. That's Ok, but I seem to now have two
profiles.

For example if i run outlook whilst on Office network, I can see the emails
received whilst I am on the network, but not the ones that I have received
when I am logged onto just the laptop.

Am really confused - can someone help me please

thanks

Alex

Yes, you do have two profiles. One is the domain profile, one is the local
profile. That's the way things work when you log in on the local PC instead
of the domain.

If you need to use your laptop outside the office you should consult with
your support staff to set up your profile so it can be used on or off the
domain. They will know how.

Thanks Richard

yes I guessed I had two profiles.

We actually dont have support staff - we are a ssmall company and I run the
network. Up until 3 months ago, it was alsways Novell, and I never had any
problems with that. However for commercial reasons we switched to SBS2003 a
couple of months ago and i am still getting my head around it.

Any help or advice in resolving my issue much appreciated

Alex

No resolution is possible unless you cache logon profiles locally (on the
client PC) so that users can log on either on or off the network.
