Duplicate icons now appear at logon?

Suddenly there are duplicate icons appearing at startup. I have two users on
this machine. Both names are listed twice. The names only appear once in
user manager. Any ideas on how to remove the duplicates without messing up
the profiles?

I am having the exact same problem here. Can't find how to fix it anywhere.
Help!
 
Ditto. It happened on October 24 after an update. Doubt it has anything to do
with it, but when I added a guest account it also showed up as a duplicate.
