Installation of KB938979 results in duplication of user profiles

Processor: T2060 @ 1.60 GHz
Memory: 1Gb
System type: 32-bit

The installation of this patch is mandatory. However, after each
installation of this patch (KB938979), it duplicates the user profiles on the
machine. All profiles work correctly, but I can't delete the duplicated
profiles. Even if I use the restore to previous image, once the patch is
installed the duplication returns.

Didn't happen here on either of my machines.
 
I can't even get the damn thing to install!
