Duplicate DHCP servers not replicating

J

John Aldrich

We have two DHCP servers here. I just brought up the second one and turned
off an old DHCP server that was running on a desktop-class machine (which
was already overloaded!) The one I just turned off would replicate with
the second DHCP server, but for some reason the new DHCP server is not
picking up new reservations from the other DHCP server.

To make this a bit less confusing, let's do this... We have DHCP servers
A, B, and C. I turned off DHCP server A so we now only have DHCP Servers
B&C. A&B used to replicate between themselves. For some reason, B&C no
longer seem to be replicating. Any ideas? I did get the scopes copied from
one to the other, but I had to manually run DHCPEXIM on both machines to
export from one and import to the other.

Please CC replies to (e-mail address removed), the address in my "from" is not
valid, or rather it's a bit-bucket.
Thanks...
John

DHCP does not have any concept of replication with others. I don't know
what you mean that "A&B used to replicate between themselves"?? Your IP
scopes and reservations should not be duplicated on another active DHCP
server or you will end up with IP address conflicts.

Thanks,
