dual vista xp again

So lets say I have the dual boot, on separate drives.. and I never boot XP
again.. They say the restore point in Vista should be fine ???
What about when I'm in Vista and access files from the XP drive.. does that
cause restore point problems ?

No it doesn't. Booting into XP is what causes the restore points to vanish.
Doing a boot time defrag with PerfectDisk will do the same thing.
