Dual NICs

Steve

I have installed a new server, it came with 2 NICs. Do I just plug both
into a switch or is there more to it? I am running MS server 2003 standard.

Thanks,

Steve

Additionaly, depending on the make of NIC's you could install additional
software above the standard drivers that allow you to 'team' the pair of
NIC's.

This way you have 2 NIC's with 1 IP associated to them. Thhis can then be
used for Load balancing, or fault tolerance etc.

No.
Leave the one you are not using unpluged and unconfigured.

Why do they ship them with dual NIC's if this is a bad idea?

Thanks for the advice.
