Dual NIC and WINS Server problems

Hi,

We have two NICs installed in the server, one for the LAN (192.168.0.0/24)
and one for the Internet Access (10.0.0.0/28). When we add the WINS server
on IP 192.168.0.1 (server), the server changes the IP address of the WINS
server to 10.0.0.1 which results in a failing WINS server. We disabled all
NetBIOS traffic on all NICs and cleared the NetBIOS cache before configuring
WINS. There are no DNS entries for the 10.0.0.0 network. Routing and Remote
Access is active causing all 192.168.0.0/24 traffic to direct to the LAN
interface and 0.0.0.0/0 network to redirect to the WAN interface. The WAN
interface has a default gateway to the router/firewall.

What's wrong with this configuration? Why is the WINS server failing and
picking up a wrong IP address after updating?

This problem is described by Microsoft KB article Q224449, but does not come
with a solution...
