Dual boot xp and w98

I want to have an xp disk and a w98 disk both bootable. I
want each to be able to read data from the other.

My w98 disk was working fine, I boobed by installing xp
and letting it partition format the new disk as ntfs.

I re did this as fat32 (both are now fat32)

I installed xp to the new disk and it works well, however
was never given the option of getting a dual boot.

the dip switches on the disks are set to xp-dual master
and the w98 as cable select - does this matter.

Help, how can I get dual boot

You can only boot to one hard drive at a time. you have
two choices to get a dual boot. If your motherboard BIOS
supports it, you can enter setup\boot order and choose
which drive to boot up, or you can make 2 partitions on 1
hard drive and put 98 & XP on a separate partition
(install 98 first). When you install XP, a dual boot will
automatically be created. Good luck!

That this mean I cannot have win xp and w98 on different drives if I
want a dual boot system.

IE It will only work on different partitions of the same drive.

You can setup a dual boot on one drive or two drives if you wish. The
key is to use a method where the "boot" drive becomes the primary
drive, in other words Drive0. You can accomplish this either by
using your system BIOS to select the boot sequence, (cumbersome) or
use a boot manager.

Best boot manager available in my opinion is BootIt Next Generation
which is shareware ($35). It does much more than providing a boot
manager. Go to their home page and read up on it.
