Dual Boot w/ 98 & 2000

I am currently running W2k with sp2 on my machine. I have
an application that requires Win98. I want to partition
the drive and install 98 to its own partition for a dual
boot system. However, I am wondering if Win98 overwrites
the boot sector during installation so that w2k will not
operate. Any suggestions?

bingo. You should always install the "simplest" (in this case Win98) OS
first.

A MAJOR issue is where the Win2000 is installed (on C maybe) & for that
matter what File Format thePrimary on the HDD is? FAT(32) orNTFS? If th3
PRIMARY is NTFS you'll have to usea 3rdparty bootmanager...IF the PRI is
FAT(32) you'll be OK with the Dual boot...

In the latter case, Install Win98 on a separate partition & after successful
istallation boot up using the 2000 CD & choose the option to repair (choose
R). Then opt forthe Recovery Console & logon to yourWin2000 version using
the Admin Password...& run FIXBOOT at the command prompt...

After successful repair, exit the RC & the system will reboot automatically
& your dual boot will be in place...
