DSL Problem HELP!!!!!

I switched to DSL about 2 to 3 months ago. Everything was running great
untill a month ago. DSL will work for about 5 minutes then all activity will
seize. The inactivity will last for about 5 to 10 minutes then activity will
continue again. At first, restarting the comp will help, then when it got
worse I tried the "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew" command. This
worked for a while then stopped working too. My last resort was to restore
my comp to an earlier time. This seemed to work for a while, but now it
stopped working too. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I know my
router and modem are fine, because the other computer connected to it is
fine.

I got a Dell Dimension 8250, running windows XP with P4 2.66, 512 RDRAM,
with Intel Pro 100M Ethernet card.

Help me please!!!!!

If you are using Software PPPOE the it might be the time for a Cable/DSL
Router.
