DSL connection drops after system stand-by

My Qwest DSL connection often but not always drops after coming out of system
standby mode. The ethernet says it is connected and the modem says it is
connected to the Internet, but from a browser (IE 6, Netscape) I can't get a
conncection. The Qwest QuickCare software analyzer says that the browser
failed to connect to the server. Qwest technical support has no further
options to help thinking it is a computer issue. Anyone had experience with
this problem?

Open your Device Manager, scroll down to the Network Adapter,
right-click on the Network Adapter, select Properties > Power Management.
Then uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
and click OK.
