DSL-Conection with two LAN-Cards on Win XP

With two installed ethernet-Cards in my PC i´m having
continiuosly trouble with dsl (Error 769). Using the
assistant for a new network connection, i am not asked
which interface i want to use.
Questions are:
Can i have two LAN cards in my pc while using DSL?
Which interface is choosing XP by default?
Can i change the default?

Hi, Peter -

You sure can route Internet traffic through one NIC and
LAN traffic through the other by using static routes. If
you open a command prompt window and type 'route /?'
you'll get a help screen that should get you started.
