DrWatson Postmortem Debugger Problems

Last week I started getting the above error message when I would try to open
a window in Windows Explorer. The computer would freeze. Ever since, things
have been generally deteriorating, with repeated problems with Internet
Explorer and various other programs. I have installed all updates, etc.,
from Microsoft, but to no avail.

Any suggestions? Quickly losing faith in these products.

Aldo,

DrWatson log should reveal the module that created the crash. The log would
be present in this folder:

%Allusersprofile%\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson

Also, run a malware cleanup.

I ran the malware programs you suggested, but it didn't help.
In fact, it seems that this problem is slowly creeping into other
software.

For example, I can't open windows explorer. And I can't open certain
other programs. And I can't open my CD rom drive. This is slowly
killing my computer.

Any other suggestions?

I've been having the same problem, but haven't checked the Doc. Wat log.

Initially I thought it wasn't possible, since how could I navigate to it if
windows Explorer fails everytime I open it, but it seems like other programs
"Internet Explorer" and "Notepad" can be used to navigate the file system.
Seems really strange to me, since I always assumed that these were built on
top of windows explorer.

It is a really strange and annoying problem and it seems to effect all the
user profiles I have on this box.

Personally I'm assuming that it's malware of some nature or other but none
of the testing tools that I use seem to find it (Microsoft Antispyware,
Norton, Spybot, Hijacack this,)
