drop down menus, how to get full view

When I go to one of the drop down menus, only an abbreviated menu shows. To access items that do now show up right away, I have to click on the button that has the 2 downward pointing arrows. Is there a way to change the setting, either in Excel or the Windows 2000 operating system to have the drop down menus show the full assortment of items automatically?

Go to the customize menu, click on the options tab and uncheck th
"menus show recently used commands first" optio
