Drop-down arrow/menu in cell

Hi all,

Has anyone ever encountered the problem that:
- if one uses data -> validation in a cell
- allowed is a list
that if you select the cell, the drop-down arrow does not
show. Validation works correctly (if you enter a value not
in the list, it shows the error message) and it does not
matter what you enter in the "source" field in the
validation screen (a name, a renge of values, a range of
cells). It worked and after many changes in my sheet, it
simply does not work anymore! Pls. reply to my email-

Paul,

On the Settings tab of Data>Validation there is a cell title In-cell
dropdown. This is probably unchecked, so check it.

In some versions of Excel, if the data validation cell is in a frozen
pane of the window, the dropdown list doesn't appear.

If that's the problem, you could use Window>Split instead.
