Excel drop down arrow

help - I have validated a cell for drop-down list, and it works great except
that it does not show itself as a drop-down list unless the cell is chosen.
How do I get the drop-down arrow to be seen all of the time, even when
working elsewhere in the spreadsheet? I am trying to eliminate having to
click on the cell first to choose it , then have to click on the drop-down
arrow also. I would like to be able to just click on the drop-down arrow to
choose from list.
Can anyone help me?

i use the combo box from the forms toolbar, view>toolbars>check forms, click on
the combo box, then click on your form, and a giant arrow will appear. If you
hover on the border you can drag its borders in the mormal windows way until
it is the size that you want. You right click on it again and select format
control, select your range for you list, you need a cell link for control of
the box, select the number of lines you want to display.I ALWAYS have trouble
finding the help infornation for this "function".There is another version of
this control but I dont use it .......I can send you a sample "from" if you
like,reply with an email address

Combo box A drop-down list box. The item that is selected in the list box
appears in the text box.

Combo box properties
(right click on your drop down box, select format control and.........

Input range Reference to the range containing the values to display in
the drop-down list.

Cell link Returns the number of the item that's selected in the combo box
(the first item in the list is 1). You can use this number in a formula or
macro to return the actual item from the input range.

For example, if a combo box is linked to cell C1 and the input range for the
list is D10:D15, the following formula returns the value from range D10:D15
based on the selection in the list:

=INDEX(D10:D15,C1)

Drop-down lines Specifies the number of lines to display in the drop-down
list.

3D shading Displays the combo box with a 3-dimensional shaded effect.
