Norman Stein

Hello,

I'm using XP Pro. From time to time my my audio doesn't work and I get
the message that I don't have a proper device installed, even though
everything's been fine up until then. At this point I uninstall the
drivers for my sound card, and then reinstall them. While
reinstalling, I get repeated messages saying that new audio devices
have been found. Then everything works again for a while. What's going
on? How have my devices disappeared? By the way, I've checked both for
viruses and ads using the latest files from Lavasoft AdAware and AVG
and everything seems to be clean. My soundcard is a Turtle Bay Santa
Cruz.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Norman

Norman, does your Motherboard have a onboard audio chip? If yes, go into the
Bios and disable it. If no, move the soundcard to another PCI Slot.
