drivers for DVD-ROM and CD-R/RW missing

Dell 8250 P4 2.4 60gb 512mb For reasons unknown,I
have lost my secondary ide hardware. They are a LITEON
DVD-ROM LTD163 and a SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-240B. They both
show up in device manager but with a problem. Windows
does not recognize them. When I delete them and reboot,
Windows finds them but cannot install the drivers for
them because it states that they may be corrupt or
missing. Can someone send them to me, or tell me where
they can be found? I have tried both manufacturers sites
without any success.

Goto http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.php#problems
See the second "problem" (read the caveats)
Run the provided registry patch

That should fix your problem (basically, a filter driver is missing or
non-operational, the registry patch will delete the filter drivers
references for your cdrom(s))

Basically, the reg file from above carries out the steps displayed at this
website

You may need to install a UDF reader (if the disks are written using a
packet writing format (ie from InCD or DirectCD or some other variant like
that).

No, Jason, that is not the problem. If I put a dvd movie
in the tray, and try to play it with Power Dvd, it will
start to load then quit and it states error code
89030000 "Disk with an unsupported format in Drive".
Also, when I double click my computer, it shows the dvd-
rom drive, but the disk in the tray does not show.

The disks do that in whatever program you try to run it
with, such as Windows Media Player. The icon for the
disk will not come up in MY Computer when you double
click on the dvd-rom icon. A display comes up that
states it cannot read the disk because it may be
corrupted or not of a format compatible with Windows.
The floppy drive gives you the same result when you try
to open a disk in it. Some basic thing is missing. I
even reinstalled windows xp pro. That didn't work
either.
