Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal when switching to battery

Hi there
i have a Dell inspiron 8600 XP Pro SP2 fully updated
operating system is almost 2 y old and in good condition

when i 'm switching from adapter to battery, i get the following Blue screen
BSOD
" Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal".

i cannot give you more than that because my laptop is not near me.
can someone put me in a direction to solve this problem.
chould i concentrate on the hardware, software, drivers, kernel etc...

Hola

i found the solution, thnx
it was a bad driver called gv3.sys( processor)
i replaced it whith the original driver intelppm.sys
http://www.pcwereld.be/node/2435

do a search and destroy of all values with gv3 in the register
then uninstall the processor driver in the device manager
reboot
reinstall processor driver( let windows do the search)
hopefully it will take the original driver(intelppm.sys)
