Driver updates grayed out in windows update.

When doing windows update, the critical and regular update
are blue and show 0 updates because I have installed all
of them but on the device driver it is grayed out even
though I know of one or two that are usually there. It
was there but I had to reload my machine and now it
isn't. Any help would be great. I am running windows xp
pro. Thanks

Drivers Update has been grayed out since around 11th Oct. MS is working on
it. Read Eric Brodish (MSFT) communications in
microsoft.public.windowsupdate.

Spencer posted one solution -- Drivers Update was rendered 'degrayed' -- to
that newsgroup on 18th. You may like to look that up. Personally, I won't
be in a hurry. A driver update direct from the manufacturer's website is
always preferable, more up-to-date.
