driver conflict

Everytime I boot windows it crashes and I get an error report saying
audio driver conflict. I when to www.cirrus.com 's site looking for drivers
and can't find any for xp. I'm using an old onboard rage2c legacy chip. It
runs fine in win98 with the 98 drivers but I have to disable the sound in xp
to prevent crashing. And I'd like to have sound.

Rage2C is video - pretty sure.

However, if the sound card is unsupported by the manufacturer - then it will
not be supported. The manufacturer decides the life of their product -
yours decided it was dead.

Buy a cheapo sound card and put it in if you want sound - although if that
component is that old, you may want to just save up $300-$400 and buy a
whole new system. =)
