Drive number for ASUS CD disappeared all of a sudden

I have two CD drives. 1 is a NEC DVD RW drive and it shows up as my drive F,
which is correct.

My ASUS CD 5520 A drive was until a day or so ago drive L. Yet drive L is
not shown any longer.
When I go to the Device Manger it shows both drives.

How do I get the Drive letter back?

I got an answer in a round-about way.

I downloaded TeakUI for windows XP and that then recognized all my drives
again.

Tweak UI is quite something and even free from MS!
