Drive letters

I've just done a fresh install and my drive letters are all mixed up. When I
did the install, I partitioned the drive into 2 (using the 2nd for My
Documents), and had an external drive plugged in. The order now shows as:

C: (Windows)
D: (External)
E: (CD drive)
F: (2nd partition)

I want the order to be:

C: (Windows)
D: (2nd partition)
E: (CD drive)
F: (External)

Is this possible, and how?

If you start the Computer Management MMC snap-in (Start -
Programs - Adminstrative Tools - Computer Management) and
select the Storage - Disk Management branch you should be
able to right click on each drive and change the drive
letter. You'll have to do it in stages, e.g. change
External to use H instead of D, then change 2nd partition
to D and so on.

How about a little self help here ..
start, help 'change drive letters' .. what does it say?

Someone at MS put a lot of effort into that help system, which you paid
for.

Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk
Management and look lower right for the graphic of the drive.

Aside from the one with Windows, you can r-click in any partition and
take Change drive letter
