Drive letters

I get a message that says A removable has been inserted or removed. or a
directory was moved to another drive causing drive C to appear as drive C.


please help with easy fix not real literate with complacated tech. mombo
jombo.

Drive C now appears as Drive C with a period and I ge error messages how do I
change it back to Drive C without the period???

Look in My Computer. Are drive C and drive C.(period) both showing?
Are the contents identical?
You copied C onto C?
