formatted a new drive and when finished the hard drive was E drive not C. Is
it possible to change the drive letter to C. When using drive management it
will not allow the drive letter to be changed on the boot drive. Will I need
to reformat the drive to correct this problem. The computer has 1 hard drive
and 1 CDRW and nothing else that could be used to boot from.

Did you delete all partitions and remake a new partition it is possible that
you are having more than one partition. IE the first one is C:\ the 2nd is
D:| then you created a new one and put Xp on that partition E:\.

The drive was new with no partitions. The computer only had a CDRW drive
whick was listed as "D". I reinstalled the OS and the boot drive came out a
"C" as it should. Using XP will sure keep you on your toes because of the new
and unknown features.
