DreamScene Lockups

Has anyone else experienced DreamScene lock-ups? Mine started when I added
music to MediaPlayer and started changing it's settings. I also started
changing my sound settings. I changed the bit rate quality under the sound
settings and the system locked up. So, I rebooted and DreamScene came on as
normal but, it was all static (like the snow on tvs) then about 5 seconds
later, the comp locked up again. Reboot - DreamScene is disabled. It would
lock up when I started DreamScene again until I lowered the sound settings to
19KHz (or whatever).

Really wierd. Anyways, if you have experienced this and have a solution,
please, I am all ears!

DreamScene does use a lot of resources when it runs. It may be that the
sound card drivers need updating.

Nope, didn't help at all. I put everything back to default and I even
re-installed the entire OS and I still get the lockups. I must be something
with the vid drivers (I have tried both Microsoft's version as well as
Nvidia's) or DreamScene itself is messed up.

The bad thing is, Vista does not register this error so it cannot send any
info to Microsoft to help resolve the problem.

Another thing I noticed is, once it is running, I can go into sleep and
hibernate fine and come back with no prob but, once I restart entirely, it
screws up. The next restart after the screw up, it works fine again. It
will cycle like that.

I agree, it's a problem driver somewhere that isn't liking DreamScene. If
the newer drivers don't seem to help, you might try a previous version of
the drivers.
