Windows DreamScene not working on Vista Ultimate 64 bit OS

I have a 64 bit Vista Ultimate OS and installed the Windows DreamScene many
times and seems not working . Each time after install and restart Vista.
The windows update again shows DreamScene as a new update. (it actually shows
up in the update history many times, does this sounds right?). But never see
the content pack update available, What's wrong?

Hi,

I'm using 32bit Ultimate and was plagued by WU not recognizing that I
already had Dreamscene update installed. Although Dreamscene was working
perfectly for me I decided to reinstall it. This cured the problem at least
but beware. If you've read my post you'll know it took me over 1 hour to do
this. If you do decide to do it then look at "Installed Updates" and locate
the 3 Dreamscene updates KB931133, KB941236 & KB933713. Remove all three,
reboot PC, have a coffee, take the dog for a walk the dog or do something
cos you won't see the desktop again for ages. Go back to WU and install
KB933713 1st and then the two content packs (KB931133 & KB941236). Hopefully
that should do the trick.

Thanks for the reply Rob.

Yes, I did figure out that might be the problem of WU. So I uninstall the
DreamScene and re-install it after a very very long restart (not sure what
Vista is doing then). It's working now.

Thanks,

James

thanks Rob. had exactly the same problem on vista ultimate x64 (everything
was working but ds update was always available), did what you said (+ removed
ds preview) and it works now, i can see new cropping/fitting options and wu
reports no ds update available. whole thing took less than 35 minutes.

Interesting, I simply installed the final Dreamscenes over the existing
previews and they worked just fine.
