Win XP SP2+IE6, with all updates installed.
I still use a unreplaceable DOS based (t.pascal) program.
For some time now, when I try to launch it I suddenly get this message:

DPMI error (4002): memory manager does not support DPMI or VCPI

and nothing more.
It worked fine until some time ago, which I can not define to specific date
or event.

DOSX command exist in AUTOEXEC.NT file, and LH HIMEM.SYS in CONFIG.NT
file.

What might be the problem? What had happened? Any file that control the
protected mode of DOS and might be damaged? Any file to extract from
intallation CD? Any changes has been done to the registry that I'm not aware
of?

I have this prog working on another computer with saame o/s and updates and
with almost the same configuration, but with different programs installed.
This is why I think the answer must be within XP configuiration or specific
corrupted file.

A phenomena that can make some sense to more knowledgeable then me person
here:
Sometime when another 16 bit prog launched got error message about no DOSX
in path or inactive although it is, as mentioned above, in SET PAT= line etc.

Please advice, I do need this prog to function again.

Well, when running IE6 you do *not* have all updates installed. Anyway,
this has little to do with your problem.

DOSX command exist in AUTOEXEC.NT file, and LH HIMEM.SYS in
CONFIG.NT file.

That's the problem, most likely. Wrong syntax and "LH HIMEM.SYS" does not
make any sense since "HIMEM.SYS" cannot be run in high memory by design.
Make sure that CONFIG.NT has these lines:

EMM=RAM
DOS=HIGH,UMB
DEVICE=%SystemRoot%\System32\HIMEM.SYS
....
What might be the problem? What had happened?

ROTFL! Any WinXP system depending on an old PASCAL DOS Program is just a
bad joke.
