Dozens of system-tray icons

MSAS creates about a dozen or so icons in the system tray
when it starts up, and slows down the whole system, too.
These icons gradually go away by themselves. The remaining
ones go away when I mouse over them.

MSAS stopped working correctly with the latest security
patches--it contradicted itself about whether the agens
were working. I removed it. I downloaded and installed the
beta 1 refresh, and it works fine, but I still get all
those icons in my system tray at startup.

The task bar is configured to hide the MSAS icon "always."

Is that what might do that? I use UltraVNC. I occasionally get 2 or 3, but
after hovering over them they go away.

I use Windows XP Remote Desktop, which I'm using right
now. This behavior began with the last security update;
it didn't happen before.

The dozens of icons appear upon logon.

No, I do not use TightVNC or RealVNC or any other VNC to
remote control my computer. I use Windows XP's Remote
Desktop. I am getting a dozen or more icons, not two or
three.

I've got the same problem. On startup MSAS fills my system-tray with icons.
Hovering over them removes them but it constantly creates new ones. Opening
System Control -> Software for example makes MSAS create another load of
icons, changing settings in MSAS creates icon etc. etc.
Everything was fine before the Beta Refresh. I also seem unable to activate
the Security Agents, MSAS constantly shows them as disabled.
A clean install, where I tried to remove everything leftover from the first
installation and did a fresh install of Beta 1 Refresh after a reboot did
not fix any of these problems. I do NOT use any remote control software,
however I do use two monitors. Right now it is basically impossible for me
to use MSAS and I hope there is a fix or a workaround soon.
