I have accidently ticked off the "Always ask before
downloading this type of file" box before downloading .zip
and .ipz files, and I would like to reverse it, so that
the browser will always prompt me where to download the
file.

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download" option for that filetype:

Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer".

Then click "Tools" -> "Folder Options".

Change to the "File Type" tabs.

Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype and click the "Advanced" button.

Then check the option "confirm open after download".

Also, set the "NoSelectDownloadDir" to "0"
