Greetings all.. I have recently built-up a new rig and everything is going
just fine and dandy, except for one annoying lil problem. Whenever I try to
download something (via an http link through IE), it will stall at some
point. It's not an issue with very small files, but anything of any
significant size, and the download will not complete. I don't get an error
message of any sort, but the download window just stays stuck at a
percentage. It's not locked up or anything..the lil file transfer graphics
are going as usual..but the download speed, percentage, etc is not showing
any progression. It's not a modem, router or connection issue as I have
another computer on my home lan and it downloads just fine. This has me
baffled. Tried disabling all firewalls , anti virus app.,... but has no
effect. Anyone have any ideas? I'd really appreciate any help.
I have a relatively clean install of winxp SP2 running on an AMD ATHLON64 X2
5200+, KINGSTON HYPERX 800MHZ DDR2 NO-ECC 2048MB, OS is on a Western Digital
Raptor, Applications running on 2 Seagate SATA2 250.0 7200.10 16M arranged in
a 0 Raid array. Downloads are going to a single Western Digital Sata not in
an array.
P.s., I installed Mozilla Firefox as well as Mirc to see if the problem
repeats itself there..and it does... so I'm assuming it's an OS problem.
