downloading as soon as I connect

Hello

As soon as I connect to the internet something starts downloading and an
update icon appears on the taskbar. I cannot turn off the update icon.

What is causing this?

Hi,

Probably automatic updates, as some new ones were just released this week.
To stop it you must turn off automatic updates (control
panel/system/autoupdate tab).

may be automatic system update is causing that....check it first. If it's
windows update then you can turn it off. Go to control
panel-system-automatic update tab.....you'll find option to turn it off but
it is not recomended. install service pack2 and download remaining update
which are very few. It wont take a long time....enjoy
